I bought Kaleidoscope's first album Side Trips when it first came out, I believe in , a great year for rock music. Feldthouse's voice stood out and the writing was special. Kaleidoscope was the third album. The minute plus composition Seven-Ate-Sweet is simply the greatest performance ever made live /5(15).
· The Mexican Kaleidoscope's sole, self-titled album is like many American ''68 psych-garage obscurities in its morose, frequently minor-keyed blend of ominous organ and fuzz guitars. Yet mucho eccentricity and spontaneity make it more interesting than many such relics. That organ really vibrates with a menace, sometimes like a distant cousin to the Doors, but with a more adolescent /10(10).
Kaleidoscope EP Review. Good-quality alternate versions of the non-LP single "A Dream for Julie" and three songs from their first album, most likely taken from British radio. Today Tangerine Dream sounds like a cohesive, well-crafted psychedelic pop rock album, thanks especially to Peter Daltrey and Eddie Pumer's engaging songwriting, and some more original sounds and hooks that the band packed into the music. The opener, "Kaleidoscope," makes it clear that this is British psych: a driving piano riff backs.
